Guebaly El Maraghy The president of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation ETUF delivered the speech In the Virtual Symposium of WFTU on “ The International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People assuring the solidarity With the Palestinian People and its right to establish an independent state.
El Maraghy Began his speech by welcoming The General Secretary of The WFTU comrade George Mavrikos, The General Secretary of ICATU comrade Ghasan Ghoson and all the trade Union Participants from all over the world.
According to the press release that El Maraghy said in his Speech “In the beginning it’s my honor to pass all of you the greeting and the appreciation of the ETUF as well as the Egyptian working class hoping all the best and the success of you all in your march to realize the hopes and dreams of the toiling working class in your countries, also I would like to seize this opportunity to greet the militant brother George Mavrikos who does his best in organizing all the actions and activities that meet with issues and preoccupations of all affiliates members all over the world ,in the frame of principals and goals of WFTU which call for internationalism, solidarity, social equality, fighting of racism and deny the aggression against the rights.
Dear Brothers and sisters, We have been invited to participate with you “The International Day of Solidarity With the Palestinian People” in order to express our solidarity with the people of Palestine and their right to establish their independent state on the border of 1967 with its capital of Jerusalem , this right that has been violated by Zionist occupation starting from 1948 as one of the international issues and wars which revealed the imposes weakness and the hegemony by USA on the UN in carrying out of its resolutions related to the Palestinian people as well as regaining of their stolen right by the Israeli occupation in the region and unfair support of USA which breaks the resolutions of the UN as well as to consider fraudulently the Jerusalem as a capital.
Ladies and gentlemen, This day remind us the establishment of the Israeli occupation in 1948 by extermination, killing and displacement of the Arab Palestinian from their territory in one of the longest military occupation of a country in the modern edge.
Israel still intensively practice its aggressive policy although the current of Corona Virus while the world is preoccupied by it. Israel continues its aggression during the health risks and outbreak of Corona Virus among Israeli on a large scale.
The occupation forces put obstacles to prevent distribution of the foods products to the people of the west bank who are under the quarantine, the worst is the permission for the Palestinian workers from the west bank to enter Israel for work then return to their homes causing infection for their families.
In the light of the current challenges in Jerusalem and Israeli escalation in particularly under the projects of expansion of settlements, Judaization of Jerusalem and continuity of siege against the Palestinian territory and against Gaza strip in particular which increase out insistence to support the struggle of Palestinian and their right in self determination as well as to establish their independent state with the capital of Jerusalem on the border of 1967.
At the end, I convene the Palestinian workers to keep on their trade Union unity and their cohesion in order to become a great force for facing the greatest danger of the Zionist enemy.
The people and workers of Egypt express the solidarity with the workers and People of the Palestine and we call the nations of the world to adopt the practical positions that insure the right of the Palestinian people in getting back of its land and establishment of its independent state.
